With more than 20 years of experience behind the decks and behind the microphone, Ashley Good is a leading female DJ/MC specializing in weddings, private celebrations, and elevated events throughout Northern California and beyond. As the Signature DJ and owner of Fog City Entertainment and Gold Country Entertainment, Ashley brings warmth, confidence, musical intuition, and thoughtful creative direction to every celebration she leads.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Ashley moved west with a microphone dream and a deep love of music. Her career began on the airwaves in California, where she spent several years live on the air at Live 105 in San Francisco and 100.5 FM in Sacramento. That live radio background shaped her presence as an emcee: articulate, quick-thinking, comfortable with a crowd, and able to guide a room without overpowering it.

Ashley joined Fog City Entertainment in 2003 and became the company’s owner in January 2020. In 2023, she launched Gold Country Entertainment to bring the same trusted event experience to the Sacramento Valley, Gold Country, and Lake Tahoe regions. Today, she leads both companies while continuing to perform personally for select weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and cultural gatherings.

Ashley’s approach blends art and science. Her work as a DJ is grounded in musical instinct, emotional timing, and the ability to read a room in real time, while her background in research shapes the way she thinks about preparation, flow, guest experience, and the psychology of music. Rather than relying on a generic playlist, Ashley creates a music experience that is personal, intentional, and responsive to the people in the room.

For weddings, Ashley’s Signature DJ experience is designed for couples who want more than music in the background. She collaborates closely on the tone, timeline, key moments, guest energy, and overall arc of the celebration, helping the day move with ease from ceremony to cocktails, dinner, toasts, and dancing. Her style is confident but approachable, refined without feeling stiff, and always centered on the couple’s vision.

Ashley’s performance setup is curated for events where sound, appearance, and reliability matter. From clear ceremony audio and graceful announcements to a clean reception setup and immersive dance floor sound, every detail is chosen to support the experience without distracting from the beauty of the event itself.

Beyond entertainment, Ashley brings an unusually interdisciplinary perspective to her creative work. She earned her B.Sc. in Biology from Stanford University, graduating with honors, and later published research on honey bee ecology in PLOS One. She also holds an M.Sc. in Psychology and serves as Research Director for a Silicon Valley autism nonprofit, with work published in Frontiers in Integrative Neuroscience.

When she is not behind the decks or deep in research, Ashley enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, riding her motorcycle, and volunteering to help animals.
